Just a quick note tonight about a couple of new albums you may want to check out.
John Legend has released a new CD titled “Evolver”. Check it out. John Legend has been one of my favorites ever since his debut album “Get Lifted.” This guy has that feel of Motown but with a new twist, and he actually can sing. I’ve seen him twice in concert and he is a real talent, which is extraordinarily rare these days.
Raphael Saadiq has released “The Way I see it” and while I don’t know much about the guy I have heard a couple of the songs and I must give him praise where it is due. The guy again has a little of the old school sound and he does a good job.
I must be in a Motown mood tonight, but I have to say that both of these Albums are refreshing. They probably won’t be the hottest new tracks in the local dance clubs (well except for “green light”) but they are great to listen to. It’s nice to see that a little soul is still out there.
